The industry application of the PLA material

2021-11-12

Disposable products(PLA material)
Polylactic acid is absolutely harmless to human body, which makes polylactic acid have unique advantages in the field of disposable tableware, food packaging materials and other disposable products. It can be fully biodegradable and meets the high requirements for environmental protection of countries all over the world, especially the European Union, the United States and Japan. However, the disposable tableware made of polylactic acid has some defects, such as temperature resistance, oil resistance and so on. In this way, its function is greatly reduced, and the tableware is deformed and brittle during transportation, resulting in a large number of defective products. However, after technological development, there are materials modified by PLA in the market, which can effectively overcome the shortcomings of raw particles. Some even have a heat-resistant temperature of more than 120 ℃ and can be used as microwave oven appliance materials.

Biomedical field(PLA material)
Biomedical industry is the earliest application field of polylactic acid. Polylactic acid is highly safe to human body and can be absorbed by tissues. In addition to its excellent physical and mechanical properties, it can also be used in the field of biomedicine, such as disposable infusion tools, non detachable surgical sutures, drug relief packaging agents, artificial fracture internal fixation materials, tissue repair materials, artificial skin, etc. High molecular weight polylactic acid has very high mechanical properties. It has been used to replace stainless steel in Europe, America and other countries. It is widely used as a new orthopaedic internal fixation material, such as bone nail and bone plate. Its characteristics of absorption and metabolism by the human body save patients from the pain of secondary surgery. It has high technical added value and is a promising polymer material for the development of medical industry.
