Extrusion grade resin
(PLA material)
Extrusion grade resin is the main market application of
PLA material, which is mainly used for fresh fruits and vegetables packaging in large supermarkets. This kind of packaging has become an important member of the European market chain; Secondly, it is used in the packaging of some electronic products that promote safety, energy conservation and environmental protection. In these applications, the advantages of PLA such as high transparency, high gloss and high rigidity are reflected incisively and vividly, which has become the leading direction of PLA application. In addition, the application of extrusion resin in Horticulture has also begun to receive attention, and has been applied in slope greening, sand storm control and other fields.
However, the extrusion processing of
PLA material is not easy. It is only suitable for processing on some advanced pet extruders, and the thickness of the extruded sheet is generally only in the range of 0.2-1.0mm. The processing process is particularly sensitive to moisture content and processing temperature. During extrusion processing, the moisture content is generally required to be less than 50ppm, which puts forward new requirements for the drying system and temperature control system of the equipment. In the processing process, if there is no suitable crystallization equipment, the recovery of leftover materials is also a big problem, which is the reason why there are a large number of PLA leftover materials in circulation in the market.
Injection grade resin(
PLA material)
In the market application of PLA injection molding, the modified resin is more widely used. Although pure PLA has the advantages of high transparency and high gloss, its hard and brittle, difficult processing and heat resistance affect its application in injection molding. Of course, the chemical and plastic industries have been committed to solving these problems.
On the whole, the relatively high cost is the biggest reason that hinders the wide application of PLA in the injection molding market. Although the cost of pure resin can be reduced by filling modification, the effect of this measure is limited on the premise of ensuring its performance. If it is necessary to improve the performance defects of PLA under the premise of full biodegradation, such as heat resistance, the cost is higher.
